Lunchtime Lecture Experience Post

In my opinion, this lunchtime lecture was one of the best ones we have had! Noelani Jones was an amazing speaker and did a wonderful job of explaining large amounts of information in a short amount of time. I especially loved all the work that she brought with her! I felt that it enhanced her presentation and really grabbed the attention of the audience. I was very interested in Noelani's focus on color and texture, as these are elements that I often consider in my pieces. Her process of coloring her fabrics with natural materials showed me that she has a great appreciation for color, which I can resonate with. I also loved the scale of her work and how it grabs the attention of viewers through the use of space. I found Noelani's work intriguing, especially as she uses a less common medium. Her story is very inspiring, and I learned a lot about artist residencies and different jobs in the arts.
