I loved this lecture and I found it very inspiring. I love Rayfield's art style, and how he has used his talents to make a living from being an artist and doing commissions. I thought it was especially interesting how he started out doing illustrations and self-portraits and he thought that was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. However, his teachers saw that his talents were in painting others and pushed him to work on this, which is an impressive quality. I am also very impressed by his willingness to follow his teachers' instructions to work on something that he didn't love, especially because he eventually realized that he had a great talent. I love the symbolism and tiny details in his pieces and how they leave his work up to interpretation.

I thought this was a great last lunchtime lecture of the year, as it is one of my favorites that we have hosted! I especially enjoyed...
