Thomas Allen is an American painter and illustrator who is most well known for his works

involving deconstructed and repurposed books. I am doing something similar to this for my home project, so I have been looking at his work for inspiration.

Allen has work permanently displayed in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts. His publications have appeared in over 50 publications throughout the world and he has received a SPOTS Gold Award and been nominated for an American Illustration Award.

Some of my favorite of Allen's work with books (shown below) involves cutouts and pop-ups that add dimension and shape to his compositions. This is something I hope to be able to achieve in my home project.
